Wow. Activism is back! Here’s another opportunity to learn how to work for change within our democratic process—a workshop on legislative advocacy and action at the Newark UU Fellowship on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9:30 to 12:30.
Here’s the description:
A FREE public forum featuring a panel discussion about engaging with the legislative process as citizen advocates, followed by a presentation on using social media for positive social change. Confirmed speakers: Rep. Paul Baumbach; Kathleen MacRae, Executive Director of ACLU-DE; John Flaherty of Delaware Coalition for Open Government. Anne Green will speak about social media. Networking time with area nonprofits after the presentations. Organized by the UUFN Social Justice Committee.
This is exactly what various march organizers have in mind for us to do—to advocate, legislate, and make change on the local and state level.
You can register for free at Eventbrite.
Thanks to Donna Shand of the UUFN Social Justice Committee and Jan Owens for reaching out after the AMAZING march in Newark on Saturday.
